Media: Use Mother Jones as an example of a magazine that carries no ads (Ms too) and therefore has no ties to corporate ads.
Media/Journalism: The Drudge Report has some really good links to columnists, articles, etc

Journalism C-Net has a daily media update that kids can check for stories, ideas, discussions...most of them related to internet.
