Web Pages idea: When they set up their Blogs, have them invite me to their team so that I can respond to them right in their blogs if needed. I wonder if there is a limit to how many blogs I can participate in...But now I'm wondering if Blogger is the best idea since it doesn't make an easy table of contents. Maybe it would be best for my purposes to use diaryland...I could still run a community blog where people can contribute ideas and stuff...hmmm...then again, I can participate more if they do a blog...easier to respond. More useful for html? Remind them to always save their code in a word file so they can replace it if they screw up. I think the diaryland account is easier for me, and a class blog that they can contribute to with ideas and sites. Should that class site be the one I've started already? Or would it be okay if I just linked it? I think a second one with a link would be okay. I need my own space.

Day 1--Class overview. Handout surveys. Introduce Class.
Day 2--Visit student websites. Set up student e-mails. Show Blog. Assign: Write down 10 things that they might include in their portfolios and tell why they selected them.
Day 3--Check homework. Go around and have each student pick one to talk about. Then, go over Internet terms assigned in class the day before. Next, intro Blogs at Blogger. Have them set up accounts...go through the process with them. Show them how to make basic posts. Have them put the top five of their 10 artifacts in the blog. Show them a couple of basic html tags...have them use in their posts. Assign them to find two resource sites that they will link and briefly discuss in their blogs.

Mod Am Lit
Day1--Did the HSPA narrative, assigned the beauty exercise...find something beautiful and write a couple of paragraphs about why you chose it. What is beauty?
Day 2--Do the written HSPA part in class. Talk about the expectations. Assign the pro/con for homework for Friday (two nights). Also, assign the bully incident...Write about at time that you've been picked on because of the way you looked or about a time you picked on someone else for the same reason. These must be legible to be accepted, (typed preferred) because we will share them in class at some point.
Day 3--Computer Room--Do the picture prompt piece of the HSPA...bring books. Go over the expectations (depth, story, theme, etc.) Then, begin research on Bluest Eye topics.
